The WWE always likes to make history whenever it comes to the grandest stage in their pay per view calendar and I’m happy to say this year’s was no exception as not only did Diva legend Lita turn up but came bearing gifts in the form of a new WWE Women’s Championship.

If that wasn’t enough a prize for the triple threat match that night, the former woman’s champion then delivered something that was long overdue, WWE female athletes will now be known as “Superstars” — a status deserving of their history of extraordinary accomplishments.

Getting to my predictions we would start off on a loss when Ryback failed to get past Kalisto for the United States Championship, this I hoped would not set the tone for the night but thanks to the Total Divas defeating B.A.D & Blonde, I could at least level my score at one all

I would be able to claim another prediction point as the Usos defeated the Dudley Boyz, the Usos were even nice enough to put the Dudley Boyz through tables giving me a 2 – 1 score.

Well nuts, Zack Ryder def. Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, Stardust, The Miz and Sin Cara to become the new Intercontinental Champion, to be fair, when picking Dolph Ziggler the odds were not what you would call stacked in my favour. So while I must level my score at two all I get the feeling this prediction result is going to be a close one.

Current Score: 2 – 2

Chris Jericho defeated A.J Styles and I am starting to get worried here as I am now down 3 – 2 in my predictions with the number of matches remaining dwindling but I am relieved to find the League of Nations defeated the New Day allowing me to level the score 3 – 3.

While I am not a personal fan of the League of Nations and I actually thought it was a title match but apparently not, it was refreshing when Stone Cold Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels & Mick Foley came down to dismantle the group, happy days…

Controversies given on the WWE website = as you all know Dean Ambrose battled “the Beast” Brock Lesnar in a no holds barred street fright well on the website it says the following Dean Ambrose def. Brock Lesnar…however…

…the following is what is reported underneath…

Some matches at WrestleMania are contested over titles, others for pride. But, in the case of the No Holds Barred Street Fight between Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose, the one and only purpose was menacing, unadulterated carnage. And when the bodies were broken and traces of destruction were visible in every direction, it was ultimately The Beast who reigned supreme.

It says the beast reigned supreme, to me that says Brock Lesnar defeated Dean Ambrose but according to the title, he lost, this piece was posted by Michael Burdick so well done that man for the WrestleMania cock-up, it wasn’t even noticed when the summery was changed to the full match results (please join me in a slow clap for Mr Michael Burdick, the WWE writers must be so proud)

Brock Lesnar defeated Dean Ambrose leaving me 4 – 3 down on points…

Charlotte defeated Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks to become first new WWE Women’s Champion, well I have to admit while I am pleased about the new championship and the new status of the women’s division, my prediction is not looking good as I am now down 5 – 3

The Undertaker defeats Shane McMahon in Hell in a Cell – I am so pleased to get this result my money was the Deadman despite it looking more and more like a screw job was heading his way, Shane’s dive of the top was the move of WrestleMania but I claw my way back to being down 5 – 4…

I knew this was going to be close but for crying out loud…

Baron Corbin won the 3rd annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal – I have to admit when I saw that he won, my first thought was who? Turns out he’s a member of the NXT roaster as he actually eliminated my pick, Kane to win it.

This leaves me up the preverbal shit creek without a paddle as my current prediction score is 6 – 4 and I’m not on the right side, so this has gone to hell in a handbasket for I have lost this pay per view prediction but I would like know if I have lost by one match or by three as the main event is still to be decided.

BONUS – John Cena returns and joins The Rock at WrestleMania

The Rock and John Cena have certainly come a long way since 2013. Back then, when WrestleMania XXIX invaded MetLife Stadium, the two icons were at each other’s throats, opponents in the night’s highly-anticipated main event match. During WrestleMania 32, however, it was Cena who would join his former foe when The Wyatt Family ominously interrupted The Great One’s announcement that the crowd at AT&T Stadium had broken the WrestleMania attendance record with 101,763 fans in attendance, but not before The Rock defeated Erick Rowan in an impromptu match in a record six second

Roman Reigns def. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H, well I end my prediction on a win as predicted Reigns victorious, what can I say…

I am sorry to say I did lose my overall prediction 6 – 5, if the impromptu match of the Rock and Erick Rowan was official I would have ended on a draw as my money would always have been on the Rock but that’s neither here or there.

So WrestleMania comes to a close, it’s been a hell of a pay per view, Cena’s back, at a 100%? Who knows, we just have to wait and see and I will see all at the next pay per view which I believe is Extreme Rules…See you all then…

Been a fan of the WWE since 2000, watched a few from the early years online, wasn’t a fan of where the “Powers that be” were taking the company but it has gotten better with the brand split, I thought that it was a format that worked
