Thoughts On WrestleMania 34 Main Event Rumours

Yes, the news of the locker room, abuzz with anticipation are the rumours surrounding the main event of next year’s WrestleMania, and as my featured image might have given it away, it’s no surprise to you that I am talking about Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns.

This is apparently the end game to the push to Roman Reigns to have him replace John Cena as the face of the company, to win the Universal Championship that he was robbed of by Seth Rollins when Reigns faced Lesnar at WrestleMania thirty-one.

Now, I don’t understand the heat that Reigns has got since winning the Royal Rumble 2015, he’s one of my favourite wrestlers and the only reason people hated him was because Daniel Bryan wasn’t involved in that rumble match.

Now this rumour doesn’t mean that he’s getting past the Undertaker at this year’s showcase and it certainly doesn’t mean that Brock Lesnar who, let’s face it – is a part time superstar will hold the gold throughout the year even if he beats Goldberg, although if he does it will mean it’s going to be a bad year for the company.

But if this rumour does hold water, would that mean that another win for Reigns at next year’s Royal Rumble be on the cards, who knows? but who’s to say that if he beats Undertaker at this year’s WrestleMania would that only bring more heat on him for beating a fan favourite?

And to be honest, when Brock Lesnar was in full time, he was one of my favourites but when he left for the UFC, it was a mistake, him coming back as a part timer was no good, he didn’t have that “holy shit” factor about him for me.

If the rumour is true, I don’t think it will be an achievement for the company, I think it will bury Reigns (if he’s not already by that time) and Brock Lesnar should just straight out not be in the ring, one more WrestleMania match that will kill the joy of the biggest pay per view of the year.

Been a fan of the WWE since 2000, watched a few from the early years online, wasn’t a fan of where the “Powers that be” were taking the company but it has gotten better with the brand split, I thought that it was a format that worked
