So one of my favourite pay per views comes to a close and I start with a win as Mark Henry & Jack Swagger def. The Dudley Boyz, Darren Young & Damien Sandow and The Ascension (Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match to Qualify for the Royal Rumble Match)
The win counter ticks over with another point as Dean Ambrose (c) def. Kevin Owens (Intercontinental Championship Last Man Standing Match)
With a 2-0 lead in my prediction tally, this is usually where the luck pulls the rug from under my feet and gives me my first lost but as The New Day (c) def. The Usos (WWE Tag Team Championship Match) I stretch my lead to 3-0.
You know that rug I mentioned, that luck would pull it from my feet, it just did as Kalisto def. Alberto Del Rio (c) (United States Championship Match) giving me my first loss on the board, still giving me a 3 – 1 lead, thought that one would have come sooner but that the game of predictions.
This is a bit of a shock really because I thought Alberto had this in the bag but as I write this as the matches happen I got to thinking could Del Rio be a contender to win the title in the Rumble match???????? Or then again could Mark Henry or Jack Swagger be in the running, both are former champions??????
But we quickly regain our footing as Charlotte (c) def. Becky Lynch (Divas Championship Match) taking me to a 4 – 1 lead and obviously my tally cannot be caught with only the Rumble match left.
The Royal Rumble Match for the world heavyweight championship, the one match I really hope I was going to be wrong in my prediction as Roman Reigns was in on the first entry – I would love to see Reigns win this, to retain his title, mainly because he was given such a bad reaction from the crowd at last year’s Rumble.
I had been thinking that to give his character a boost that was meant to happen the year before, having him win from the number one entry point, to defy the boss and the Authority would be a great way to go about it.
But despite all that the rumours came true as Triple H won the 2016 Royal Rumble Match and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship thus giving me a correct prediction leaving me with a 5 – 1 prediction victory.
So closes the Royal Rumble and another notch on my prediction board we now have to wait till February 21st for WWE Fastlane and I will see you all there…
