WWE Royal Rumble 2014

The road to WrestleMania begins at the Royal Rumble my favorite pay per view of the year, 30 men, one ring, one winner where (in the past) had a choice of which championship they competed for in the main event on the grandest stage of them all…

That choice has been take away from future winners as the WWE & World Heavyweight championships were unified at the T.L.C pay per view in December, now the winner of this year’s Rumble will know the prize they reach for at WrestleMania, the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and with only one pay per view between the Rumble and WrestleMania they can almost guarantee to know who they would face and prepare accordingly…

For more than two decades the royal rumble has been the most exciting sixty minutes of the year and for more than two decades the fans have seen many surprise returns and entries into the rumble match.

From Jimmy Snuka and rowdy piper to big daddy cool diesel and an injured edge or John Cena, the rumble has proven to be the most unpredictable match where anything is possible…so to this year’s pay per view…

The Match: 30 man Royal Rumble:

Prediction: the likelihood of naming the winner of the Rumble is very slim odds so to give myself a fighting chance I will pick not one but three superstars, giving myself a ten percent chance of calling the match:

Prediction One: Batista: yeah he’s back (on the 20th Jan, edition of Raw) and I don’t think he’s return is a fluke either…I’m just saying.

Prediction Two: the Big Show: after some debate the big man is my last pick and while he has never won the event he has been the last to be eliminated in not one but two Rumble matches.

Prediction Three: Bad News Wade Barrett: yeah he’s a heel but I think it’s time he got back into the hunt for a world championship

The Match: WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena:

Prediction: despite the fact that on the last Raw of 2013, a returning Brock Lesnar vowed to be the first challenger to the winner of this match, I think by hook or crook Randy Orton will retain…

The Match: Brock Lesnar vs the Big Show:

Prediction: these two have had some epic encounters over the years including at the Survivor Series, at Judgment Day and yes…even at a Royal Rumble…

Taking these three matches alone, Lesnar’s up 2-1 on the world’s largest athlete, should I then not pick Lesnar to win this fight simply on the win count or do I pick the Big Show…

In the end I must go for the latter of the two, The Big Show, simply because I want him to win this fight…

The Match: Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt

Prediction: I got to go with Daniel Bryan on this, if this is one on one I have to go for the Submission Expert…

The Match: WWE Tag Team Championship Match: WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes vs The New Age Outlaws…

Prediction: its new school against old school and I don’t think old school is still up to the challenge I think the tag champions are going to retain…

Will keep am look out and update in case more matches are added

Been a fan of the WWE since 2000, watched a few from the early years online, wasn’t a fan of where the “Powers that be” were taking the company but it has gotten better with the brand split, I thought that it was a format that worked
