At the greatest Royal Rumble event, the Undertaker was scheduled to take on Rusev in a casket match, only for the guy’s Mrs to get involved, who got her knickers in a twist and fearing for her husband went to the officials inside WWE and had the guy pulled from the match…
Personally – I would be pissed if I was in Rusev’s place, it’s obvious who’s wearing the pants between these two, so instead of Rusev, Chris Jericho was put in as the Undertaker’s opponent and fans could not have been happier, the buzz in the office here at the Squared Circle could not have gotten higher as we were looking forward to what would have been an instant classic.
Then, low and behold – guess who’s back, yep – the Mrs, who apparently had a change of heart concerning her Russian tank and tweeted the following –
After much thought, I have notified @WWE officials that I have changed my mind. @RusevBUL will celebrate #RusevDay by burying The Undertaker in the sands of Saudi Arabi and will win the Casket Match at #WWEGRR ! #RusevCrush ! Have a Happy Rusev Day!
Are you kidding me? first off, to the Mrs – Rusev is a big boy now, you really don’t need to come to his work place every day to hold his hand and certainly don’t need to get him out of matches and I have to emphasize again if I was Rusev – I would be fucking livid that the wife had done this.
So not only are we pissed at her for stepping in and doing what Rusev should be doing, even if he was hurt but now she’s destroyed what would have been a fucking great five-star classic and Rusev should tell her to fucking mind her own business and get on with her own career.
But for now…it’s (somewhat official)…
In a stunning turn of events, The Undertaker will battle Rusev in a Casket Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia on Friday, April 27.
Originally, the Casket Match was set to be between the two Superstars, but Lana asked for The Bulgarian Brute to be removed from the grisly bout, and he was replaced with Chris Jericho, as The Ravishing Russian expressed concern over her husband taking on The Demon of Death Valley. And for good reason.
After all, the Casket Match undoubtedly belongs to The Undertaker, as The Deadman has claimed victory in several of these harrowing contests, wherein a Superstar only wins when he gets his opponent into the casket and closes the lid.
However, now it appears that Lana’s faith in the tremendous ability of her husband has won out, and she has changed her mind. She explained, via tweet, that WWE officials have granted her request to allow Rusev to compete against The Phenom at the Greatest Royal Rumble event, after all.
Rusev is a world-class Superstar, but does he have what it takes to overcome The Undertaker at his own game?
