WWE Backlash Prediction Results.

one of the things that I am seeing more and more of when it comes to our pay per view predictions is that the WWE is relying on more and more lazy decisions when it comes to their featured matches, deciding instead of advertising them on their website, to just simply add them whilst live on air.

don’t get me wrong, it sometimes makes a great dramatic moment having two superstars start or continue a feud in the back of the locker room only for the GM to make it official, demanding the business gets settled in the ring, the other problem it makes however is for those like myself who like to make predictions.

there are many of us that like to see if we can read between the lines of a feud or story plot and see how predictable a match can be and Backlash was no exception, of not only added matches that were not posted on their website to a complete and utter fuck-up of a decision…

But first let’s get the results out the way…

Baron Corbin def. Apollo Crews

With round one I don’t know if this was the kick-off match or just added but one that could have been advertised via the website but since it wasn’t I can not claim a point as a prediction wasn’t made.

Becky Lynch won the Six-Pack Challenge to become the first SmackDown Women’s Champion…

Round two kicks off my loss tally as I picked the returning Nikki Bella to win, however I do have a slight problem with this match, a six-pack challenge is basically all six in the ring and the first with a pin fall or submission wins the championship but this fucking thing was an elimination style match-up which was not mentioned in their review card.

The Usos def. The Hype Bros in a Second Chance Challenge

Due to the fact the Usos lost in their semi-final and then decided to turn heel and cripple their opponents, this match was added I did actually say in my prediction blog that a match between these teams would see the Usos winning should i not get a bonus point for that?

Despite this, this match was not announced on the website or I would have won a point for my tally but I alas cannot claim it.

Intercontinental Champion The Miz def. Dolph Ziggler

Here’s a match that even’s my prediction tally at one all, as the Miz retained his championship, sure the champion would have to give a huge assist to his wife but never the less a wins a win and I get the point

Kane def. Bray Wyatt in a No Holds Barred Match

Now this one I don’t get a point for either the plus or negative tally, the problem was that Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt’s original opponent was injured and not cleared to compete at the pay per view, they went with a knockout back stage and Kane stepped in…

Now this would have been a huge momentum for Wyatt, two giant superstars practically defeated on the same night, only he lost so as the match was changed up I don’t score on my prediction what a fucked up desicion.

Heath Slater & Rhyno def. The Usos to become the first SmackDown Tag Team Champions

Well hell, someone tell Slater he won and now is officially part of Smackdwn Live but this also lets me take the lead 2 – 1 in my prediction as everyone could tell Rhyno and Slater were going to win.

AJ Styles def. Dean Ambrose to win the WWE World Championship

Well shit…guess I didn’t see that coming and I even out my prediction two all but to be fair, ever since the Royal Rumble where A.J. Styles made his debut, I knew they were going to push the championship on him.

So I end this pay per view on a draw and now look to the end of the month for Raw’s pay per view of clash of Champions so I will catch you all there…

Been a fan of the WWE since 2000, watched a few from the early years online, wasn’t a fan of where the “Powers that be” were taking the company but it has gotten better with the brand split, I thought that it was a format that worked
