So Backlash comes to a close and well, what is there to say? There were highs, there was lows and then there was complete bullshit pulled by the company and lets get the last one out the way first shall we?
They have a habit of pulling this bullshit every time they can and it gets really old, really fast and pisses fans like me off, filler matches, in short a advertised match has gotten out of the ring too soon and finished early so they set up a “Treat” for the fans in the form of a bonus match.
Now, one I can let it slide, but three of the fucking things, complete bullshit, as it doesn’t allow people like me who like to make predictions to do so, its sloppy writing, its lazy filler matches, with no hype or storyline…So for the sake of official results:
Tye Dillinger def. Aiden English
Sami Zayn def. Baron Corbin
Luke Harper def. Erick Rowan
So thanks to the WWE, we’re three matches in and still no score to show for it, so let’s get to some results I can score on, good or bad…and unbelievably I get four in the win column as result after result came in…
United States Champion Kevin Owens def. AJ Styles via count-out
Natalya, Carmella & Tamina def. SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi, Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch
Shinsuke Nakamura def. Dolph Ziggler
SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos def. Breezango
Now on the other end of the scale and the other side of the preverbal coin we took one hit to the loss counter as Jinder Mahal def. Randy Orton to become the new WWE Champion, now I want to call foul here and do stay with me here people.
In all the time I have seen this guy enter the squared circle in the WWE I have not seen him take away a championship, the man has had no real hype to speak of, he’s practically only won a number one container match, stole the belt and then won it at a pay per view.
It’s a case of a brand new challenger, gaining the belt on their first go and that is never good for business, it doesn’t allow fans time to get invested in that superstar, no hype or momentum to be generated, it makes a mockery of the belt and the men fighting to wear the gold.
So our final total for this pay per view was four to one with three undecided and I officially win this prediction result, we now more on to Raw and their next pay per view of Extreme Rules…see you all there
